Chemistry of Art attendees recreated Vincent Van Gogh's "Undergrowth with Two Figures"

The Department hosted a Chemistry of Art event on March 18th.  This event was an interactive seminar where students can learn about the chemistry behind art and how professional conservationists use chemistry to analyze and preserve important works of art.  Attendees helped to recreate a famous work of art while learning about the science of art and art conservation.  Dr. Eric Fort of the Chemistry Department provided some scientific background while Megan Emery and Kristy Jeffcoat from the Midwest Art Conservation Center presented on art conservation while attendees paint and learn.
