| Principles of chemistry and the properties of matter explained in terms of modern chemical theory with emphasis on topics of general interest to the engineer. Topics include atomic structure, chemical bonding, solids, liquids, gases, acids and bases, thermodynamics, kinetics, polymer chemistry and materials science. This is an accelerated course requiring excellent preparation in math and science and is a terminal course intended only for those engineering students who do not plan to take additional courses in chemistry.
