Welcome to the University of St Thomas Chemistry Department! I would like to point out just a few of the exceptional qualities of our chemistry department. We are fortunate to be housed in a new building with the very latest laboratory designs, equipment, and instrumentation. Our faculty is enthusiastic and talented. Our first priority is excellent teaching, and our department is well known for its great instruction. Each faculty member is concerned that students have the best possible experience in our department. Most of our faculty do research, and there are many opportunities for interested undergraduates to take part in research projects, either during the regular semester or during the summer. For example, for each of the past 3 summers we have had about thirty five undergraduates involved in 
different research projects in our department. All of them were receiving a stipend. We offer two chemistry majors, a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts. There are many choices for the next step after a chemistry major. Our graduates have moved on in various ways: to medical school , to the chemical industry, to graduate school, to law school and to secondary education as examples. We invite you to come and visit us at the University of St Thomas, and we are confident that you will be impressed by our chemistry department.
