2012 ACS National Meeting in San Diego, CA

Students and faculty from the Chemistry Department presented their research at the 243rd American Chemical Society National Meeting and Exposition, held in San Diego, California March 25-29.  Student presenters and their research advisors were: James R. Byrnes, (student of Dr. Kristine H. Wammer); Nicholas A. Serratore,  and Gabriella T. Perell, (students of Dr. J. Thomas Ippoliti); Amy E. Howard,(student of Dr. William Ojala); Michael Slitts, (student of Dr. Marites A. Guino-o); Amber R. Schoenecker, and Kristin J. Braden and Jenny Sisombath,  (students of Dr. Lisa E. Prevette);  Logan B. McDermott  and Theresa M. Yocum, (students of Dr.  Eric Fort). 

Faculty presenting talks and posters were Dr. J. Thomas Ippoliti (with UST student co-authors Gabriella T. Perell and Thomas Gentle), “Novel method for reduction of amides”; Dr. Marites A. Guino-o (with fellow co-authors Dr. Anthony L. Fernandez of Merrimack College and Dr. Diane L. Nutbrown of the University of Wisconsin-Madison), “Computations enhance undergraduate Trans Effect lab:  Characterizing cis- and trans-[Pt(NH3)2Cl2]”; and Dr. Lisa E. Prevette (with UST student co-author Amber R. Schoenecker), “Quantifying the interaction of Tat peptide and cell-surface glycosaminoglycans.”
