I began my working life as a computer programmer and advanced to become a systems analyst in a firm that focused on transportation planning in Chicago. I subsequently lived in California, Australia, Indiana, and St. Louis raising my family. In New York I worked a few years in a software firm before I began working as an advisor at Dowling College, primarily with Education students. I then served as Assistant Dean in the School of Education, supervising advisors, managing graduation, and solving student problems. Since I moved to Minnesota I have been advising students both undergraduate and graduate in the School of Education. I am now involved primarily in working with students interested in becoming teachers and also in managing graduation. It is always inspiring to talk to so many people who are interested in becoming teachers, hoping to change children’s lives for the better.
