Karen Westberg teaches graduate courses in the Gifted, Creative, and Talented education program and teaches research courses in other School of Education programs.  Before joining the faculty at UST in 2000, she was a principal investigator at The National Research Center on the Gifted and Talented and a faculty member in gifted education at the University of Connecticut.  Before moving to Connecticut, she as an elementary teacher and a gifted education specialist in the Burnsville/Eagan/Savage school district in Minnesota.  She has been actively involved with the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) by serving as Member of the Board of Directors, Finance Secretary, and member of the NAGC Editorial Boards for the Gifted Child Quarterly and Teaching for High Potential.  She enjoys working with local school districts on improving their gifted education services, curriculum practices, and assessment procedures.  When untethered from her computer, she enjoys reading about Minnesota history and U.S. history.
