Patricia Stankovitch, Psy.D.

Director of Psychological Services, Clinical Faculty
Graduate School of Professional Psychology
(651) 962-4816
IPC 100 |Opus Hall

After engaging in a successful (yet unfulfilling) career in human resources management, Dr. Stankovitch entered graduate school here at the University of St. Thomas to pursue her true occupational passion: counseling psychology.

Since December 2007 she has served as Director of Psychological Services at the Interprofessional Center for Counseling and Legal Services (IPC), UST’s multi-disciplinary clinic which provides clinical training opportunities for graduate psychology, social work, and law students.  At the IPC, in addition to providing therapy and testing services directly to clients, Dr. Stankovitch supervises practicum students and pre-doctoral interns in their delivery of services to underserved populations within the Twin Cities area.

Dr. Stankovitch is passionate about mentoring graduate psychology students to help them develop skills which will allow them to provide high-quality, compassionate services to their clients.  She emphasizes the importance of developing strong therapeutic relationships with clients and bringing one’s heart, as well as one’s head, into the work of therapy and assessment.  Her areas of interest include: the role of the psychologist in social justice, treatment of trauma, components of effective clinical supervision, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), assessment, and the delivery of multiculturally-sensitive therapy.

Over the past 10 years, Dr. Stankovitch has taught a variety of psychology courses at the undergraduate, master’s and doctoral program levels.
