Dr. Rama Hart has spent the past 20 years as an educator and consultant in the areas of leadership and organization development, virtual team collaboration and communication and management consulting. She has consulted with many non-profit and Fortune 100 organizations, helping them apply innovative approaches to leadership and team development, strategic visioning and planning, and organizational change.

Dr. Hart is engaged in research and practice focused on three areas: virtual team communication and decision making, particularly in technology-mediated environments, leadership and organization development through "action research," "critical," and "appreciative” methods, and issues facing minority women working in dominant culture climates, such as women workers in Indian call-centers, and minority women faculty in higher education. Her teaching includes masters, doctoral and undergraduate honors courses focusing on topics such as Organization Development, Leading Organizational Change, Virtual Team Effectiveness, Group Dynamics, Leadership, Organizational Change Theory and Practice, Technology-Mediated Communication, and Learning and Development in 3D Virtual Environments.

She has provided leadership and service to the University of St. Thomas in curriculum redesign and review, diversity strategy and planning, search/hiring for deans, department chairs and faculty, faculty governance, and student practicum and dissertation supervision. Dr. Hart is enthusiastic about forging collaborative relationships with students, colleagues, organizational leaders, and consultants who have a drive to advance their learning and practice through new knowledge, innovative approaches, and expert guidance.
