
Dave has a long career as a scholar-practitioner, with over 40 years of experience consulting to organizations on leadership, change, strategy, design and human resource issues and over 30 years teaching graduate education across 6 universities. He has served in many leadership roles within professional associations including National President of American Society for Training & Development and Chair, Management Consulting Division of Academy of Management. He serves on the Editorial Boards of three professional journals and as Editor of Practicing OD and Associate Editor of Journal of Management Inquiry.
Dave has published extensively with 4 books (Managing Workforce 2000; The Facilitators Fieldbook, 2nd Ed; and Consultation for Organization Change), 11 chapters (e.g., The Practice of OD; Strategic Human Resource Thinking; Aligning the Organization for a Team-Based Strategy) and numerous articles in journals and newsletters (e.g., Managing ‘Use of Self’ for Masterful Professional Practice; Building Trust; New Consultant Roles and Processes in a 24/7 World).
Today he continues to shape his fields, dividing his time between educating executives and practitioners of change, consulting in HR & organization change, and writing to bridge knowledge and practice.
