
Dr. Sarah Noonan serves as a as a tenured member of the core doctoral faculty with expertise in leadership, communication, research, and the scholarship of teaching, including extensive experience in online and virtual learning environments.
Dr. Noonan teaches courses in school administration, leadership, and intercultural communication. Her areas of scholarly engagement include published articles on culturally sensitive pedagogy and the power of story in leading, learning and teaching. She previously held positions in school administration as a superintendent and assistant superintendent of schools, director of teaching and learning, and classroom teacher before joining the University of St. Thomas in 2000.
Dr. Noonan has conducted national workshops on peer reviews of teaching and innovative educational methods in higher education. As a scholar of pedagogy and a life-long experimental teacher, Dr. Noonan values an academically rigorous and aesthetically engaging pedagogy to ensure her students experience joy, passion, struggle, visibility, transformation, and genuine accomplishment in their lives.
