William Brendel is an Assistant Professor of Organizational Learning and Development at the University of Saint Thomas in Minnesota. William is also an organizational development consultant, assisting organizations in utilizing Transformative Learning Theory as a strategic competitive lens for realigning goals and objectives with professional competencies, capitalizing on the talent of diverse teams, and executing ground-breaking strategies. William especially enjoys incorporating transformative learning in the development of change management programs, mentoring and leadership training, goal‐setting systems, and onboarding systems. William’s most recent work clients include the Columbia University Summer Principals Academy, Georgetown University Summer Law Institute, Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, Memorial Sloane Kettering Hospital, and the Visiting Nurse Service of New York. He also enjoys teaching and consulting in a number of international venues, including India, China and Africa.
William is a native of New York City. He received his M.A. in Social & Organizational Psychology (2003) as well as an Ed.D. in Adult Learning and Leadership (2009) at Columbia University. He has studied Narrative Medicine alongside Dr. Rita Charon at the Columbia University of College of Physicians and Surgeons and Mindfulness Meditation alongside Dr. John Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.
