Learn about the Graduate School of Professional Psychology (GSPP) and its M.A., M.A. with Direct Admission to the Psy.D., and Psy.D. Counseling Psychology programs at our upcoming information session.

Both the M.A. and Psy.D. programs in the GSPP offer a practitioner-scholar model of training, which emphasizes the importance of preparing counselors, marriage and family therapists and psychologists to provide direct service to clients.

The M.A. Counseling Psychology Program (48 credits) meets the educational requirements for graduates to become licensed in Minnesota as a Professional Counselor (LPC) or Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). A student in the M.A. program may take additional coursework (18 credits) concurrent with coursework in the M.A. program which, upon graduation, allows her/him to meet the educational requirements to become licensed in Minnesota as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

The Psy.D. Counseling Psychology program is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), which allows graduates to meet the educational requirements to become a licensed psychologist.

All programs offered by the University of St. Thomas shall be readily accessible to individuals with disabilities. For details, call (651) 962-6315.
