Dr. Turner’s career in psychology started in 2006. She has worked in both residential treatment facilities and outpatient mental health clinics. Dr. Turner completed her APA-accredited internship at Hazelden Foundation. She has provided Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for over 10 years and has extensive experience with treatment of co-occurring disorders.

Her areas of interest include complex trauma, culturally sensitive counseling and psychological assessment. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)—an evidence-based practice for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)—and in Adaptive Internal Relational (AIR) Network Model—a framework to help those with complex neuro-dissociative states. Dr. Turner believes in providing compassionate services to everyone and giving people chances to not just survive, but thrive.

In August 2017, Dr. Turner joined the Interprofessional Center for Counseling and Legal Services (IPC)—the University of St. Thomas's multi-disciplinary clinic—to provide direct client services and clinical supervision to graduate students and psychology interns. She is excited to pass on the wisdom from her teachers and supervisors to the next generations of psychologists, while promoting the students’ strengths and giving them an opportunity to form their own identities. Dr. Turner also maintains a part-time private practice in the West Metro.
