The University of St. Thomas Center for Catholic Studies invites you to a public lecture and book-signing event, "Evangelical Catholicism and the 21st Century Church," by author and theologian George Weigel, Distinguished Senior Fellow and William E. Simon Chair in Catholic Studies at the Washington D.C.-based Ethics and Public Policy Center, on Monday, April 15, 2013, 7:30p.m., in the Anderson Student Center, Woulfe Alumni Hall.
This lecture draws upon his newly published book, Evangelical Catholicism: Deep Reform in the 21st-Century Church. Copies of the new book will be available for purchase and Mr. Weigel will be available to sign copies following the lecture.
Mr. Weigel is the author of numerous books: two on the life of Pope John Paul II, The End and the Beginning: Pope John Paul II - The Victory of Freedom, the Last Years, the Legacy, and Witness to Hope; Soul of the World: Notes on the Future of Public Catholicism; The Courage to be Catholic: Crisis, Reform, and the Future of the Church; The Cube and the Cathedral: Europe, America, and Politics without Go; Faith, Reason and the War against Jihadism; Letters to a Young Catholic; and God's Choice: Benedict XVI and the Future of the Catholic Church. Mr. Weigel's work appears both in his syndicated column in newspapers throughout the country and in a variety of journals of public opinion.
The lecture is free and open to the public.
