Under the protection of St. Michael the Archangel, in good fellowship with Christ, and in union with His Church, the Fraternity of St. Michael seeks to gather lay men together aspiring to ideals of prayer, charity , fraternity, and study. Founded as part of the mission and under the direction of the Center for Catholic Studies at the University of St. Thomas, the Fraternity of St. Michael places these ideals at the center of a life of integrity to self, to the world, and most especially to God. The men of this Fraternity unite together to be formed as both students and men.

The fraternity fosters leadership both within and outside of the fraternity through fraternal leadership roles and encouragement to carry the Light of Christ with them into all situations. The fraternity is blessed by the presense of a chaplain to aid the fraternity members along the path to holiness. Each man is expected to attend daily mass and morning prayer, weekly fraternity formation and other fraternity functions in addition to his life of study.
