The Catholic Studies Scholarship

Every semester, Catholic Studies undergraduate majors and minors are invited to apply for several different competitive scholarships, including the David and Barbara Koch Scholarship and the Donald Leyden Memorial Scholarship. Students apply for all these scholarships through a single comprehensive application form, the Catholic Studies Scholarship Application. Awards are typically between $750 and $2,500.

Any undergraduate student registered at the University of St. Thomas who is pursuing a Major or Minor in Catholic Studies and is a second semester sophomore is eligible for the scholarship. Application deadlines vary from semester to semester.  Information will be posted here and relayed to all eligible students as it is updated. Some, but not all, of the scholarships require demonstrated financial need.

Students should apply for the Catholic Studies scholarship or the Rome scholarship, but not both.

Rome

Catholic Studies students planning to study in Rome during the upcoming semester should also apply for the Catholic Studies Rome Study Abroad scholarship. The process, sources of funding, and amounts awarded are similar to the standard Catholic Studies scholarship, but this pool is available only to Catholic Studies-affiliated students studying abroad during the upcoming semester. For more scholarship opportunities, students planning to study abroad should investigate the considerable resources provided by the International Education Center.

Students should apply for the Catholic Studies scholarship or the Rome scholarship, but not both.

Latino Leadership Scholarship

Incoming students who are active in the Latino community (and meet all other appropriate qualifications) may apply for the Latino Leadership Scholarship, offered through the Center’s Beyond Career To Calling program based on a generous grant from the Lilly Endowment.
