1998 Post Graduation Survey Report

The information in this report covers students who graduated during the calendar year 1998. The University's Office of Institutional Research included questions about post-graduation status as part of its "Survey of Graduates-One Year Follow-Up," to May and July 1998 graduates a year after graduation. Our office was provided with the results of the initial mailing, and followed with mail/phone surveys to December 1998 graduates, as well as to May and July 1998 graduates who had not responded to the Institutional Research survey. During phone surveying, information was collected from family members as well as the graduates themselves.

Students graduating with double majors are counted in both major groups. Actual number of students graduating in 1998 was 979. Information was gathered on 558 students, first through UST Institutional Research's mail survey, and completed by Career Services via mail/phone follow-up, for an actual response rate of 57%. Salary information was obtained from 544 of the 667 responding (82%). Some students may have indicated more than one primary activity (i.e., employed and enrolled in graduate school). Therefore, the employed and continuing education total comes to more than those contacted.
