Announcement Regarding Postings from Private Families

Effective December 20, 2007, the University of St. Thomas Career Development Center no longer accepts postings from private families/individuals. This includes, but is not limited to, personal care assistants, house cleaning, nannies, tutors, and pet care. This is a precaution not only for the safety of our students, but also for the children and families we serve.

In its place we will refer private families to reputable nanny and personal care agencies that perform screening of both care providers and families to ensure the safety of all parties involved.

Nanny, tutoring, and other home care agencies may still use our site to solicit applications from nannies, tutors, and care providers to work through their organization. As with all employment opportunities, the Career Development Center urges all job/internship seekers to research an organization before applying. Check their Web site, the Better Business Bureau, references, etc.
