First Destinations of Recent Undergraduate Alumni
The First Destinations of Undergraduate Alumni is assembled annually by the Career Development Center in an effort to provide accurate and useful information to students, faculty, staff, administration, and the community about the post-graduation activities of our alumni. We hope that this information will be used to advise current and future students.

What's in the Report
The complete report includes employment and continuing education status, median salary ranges, company of employment, job titles, internship organizations, graduate schools and programs, and break-downs by department and major. Respondents are never identified in the report.
How the Report is Used
The report is a very important tool for identifying current trends and future possibilities. Students use the report to explore career options for their major. Employers also use the report to identify comparative salary ranges for positions they are hiring. Prospective students can see what opportunities are available with a St. Thomas degree. University administration, media, and government agencies can be informed of employment trends.

We reach out to the most recent graduating class 6-10 months after graduation via email and postal mail. We have Frequently Asked Questions and Methodology pages that answer most of the common questions we receive about the survey.
We typically obtain a 48 percent response rate, which is among the top rates for schools performing a survey 6-10 months after graduation. On average, only 42 percent of students receive employment by graduation and another 34 percent receive employment within 8 months. Delaying the survey allows us to capture a better picture of entry-level employment trends.
Though the complete report is available online as a PDF, hard copies of the report may be picked up in the Career Development Center or mailed to you upon request.
If you would like a hard copy of the report mailed to you please provide us with your name, mailing address, and number of copies requested. Due to limited quantities, the Career Development Center reserves the right to restrict the number of copies sent from our office.
University departments may request data pertaining to their departments such as the number of graduates employed and those seeking graduate degrees. However, the graduate's personal information is kept confidential and individual salary responses may not be released.
