Announcement Regarding Postings from Private Families
Effective December 20, 2007, the University of St. Thomas Career Development Center will no longer accept postings from private families or individuals. This includes, but is not limited to, personal care assistants, house cleaning, nannies, tutors, and pet care. This is a precaution not only for the safety of our students, but also for the children and families we serve.
In its place we will refer private families to NannyJobs.com with information about hiring nannies as well as an agency search for Minnesota. Two local agencies that continue to actively recruit St. Thomas students for area families are College Nannies and Tutors and Nannies from the Heartland. It is best to choose an agency that performs screening of both care providers and families to ensure the safety of all parties involved.
Nanny, tutoring, and other home care agencies may still use our site to solicit applications from nannies, tutors, and care providers to work through their organization. As with all employment opportunities, the Career Development Center urges all job and internship seekers to research an organization before applying. Check their website, the Better Business Bureau, references, and other sources to thoroughly ensure their legitimacy.
