Career Information Network > Students
Once you have your eRecruiting account you are set to go. All undergrad students should have an account ready to use, if you have problems logging in try the help page. Alumni meeting with a career counselor should follow directions given by the counselor. To successfully navigate the system we recommend downloading and reading through the documentation below.
Please note that while you are searching for contacts, you are only allowed to save the contact information of up to ten professionals per month. These 10 saves are called "tokens." You are not charged tokens for performing a search but you are charged a token even if you do not communicate with a saved contact. Once you save a contact it is up to you to contact them.
Once you contact a professional, you may want to ask a variety of questions such as how they chose their career, what education is needed, and if they have any recommendations to someone who may want a job like theirs. Go to the following link for details about informational interviewing.
Follow the steps below to get started:
The documentation below will help guide you through the system. Once you have an account, log into eRecruiting to update your profile. The Getting Started Guide is available in Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format (PDF) or Microsoft Word (DOC).
Current undergraduate students should already have an account in eRecruiting. If you have problems logging in, use the password help information located on the login page. Alumni should meet with a counselor prior to using the system to make sure they have an account.
The Career Information Network's primary purpose is to connect students with professionals for an informational interview and is not intended for job search networking.
Career counselors may recommend the Career Information Network to recent alumni or alumni seeking a career change.
Professional contacts participating in the network include St. Thomas alumni and other professionals willing to help students who have questions about a particular career path.
