Career Assessments and Inventories

Current students and alumni of the University of Saint Thomas  interested in taking any of the tests below may schedule an appointment with a career counselor by calling the Career Development Center at (651) 962-6761.

These tests do require a minimal fee for scoring. Please bring cash, check or UST Express payment to appointment. 

Following your customized session with a counselor you will be given instructions on how to access this inventory via an online web site. To get your results, you will be asked to schedule a follow-up appointment about one week later to receive a paper copy of your results and an interpretation of the findings to schedule your first visit call (651) 962-6761.

Campbell Interest and Skills Survey (CISS)

The CISS is a survey of self-reported interests and skills.  Its major purpose is to help individuals understand how their interests and skills map into the occupational world, thereby helping them make better career choices.

CareerLeader

This program is a fully integrated approach to business career self-assessment.  The comprehensive, three tests allow users to investigate 27 major business career paths, plus information to help navigate issues regarding organizational cultures.

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)

The self-report questionnaire is designed to help you identify your personality strengths and unique gifts. The information gained can be used to better understand yourself, career options and preferred work tasks and environments.

StrengthsQuest

The Clifton StrengthsQuest™ (SQ) is Gallup's strengths development program for college-age students. It is a strengths inventory that highlights individual's top five areas of greatest talent. By focusing on and intentionally developing these areas, each student can unlock the unique keys to their academic, personal, and professional success.

Strong Interest Inventory (SII)

This inventory helps students discover their interests, preferences, and personal styles—exactly the information needed to select classes or choose a career you can be passionate about.

California Psychological Inventory (CPI)

Measures personality attributes used to describe professional and personal styles. It presents results on more than two dozen scales in five areas:

1. Dealing with Others
2. Self-management
3. Motivations and thinking style
4. Personal characteristics
5. Work-related measures
