SPRING RETREATS

Silent Retreat: Developing the Beatitudes in Our Lives

February 21-23, 2014 at Gainey Conference Center

Join us for a silent retreat led by law professor Susan Stabile.

Pope Benedict described the Beatitudes as “expressing the meaning of discipleship.” They set forth a blueprint for the way we are invited to orient and live our lives as disciples, creating a picture of right relationship with God and with each other. This silent retreat will help students to deepen their understanding of the Beatitudes and what they mean for how we are to live our lives.

Discipleship Retreat - "The Joy of Social Justice"

March 14 at 4:30 p.m. to March 15 at 7:30 p.m.

A disciple was a student (and follower) of Jesus during his ministry.  The word disciple derives from the Latin word discipulus meaning "a learner".

As Christians and followers of Jesus, He calls us to do and be many things.  Social Justice is one important aspect of discipleship.

During this retreat, participants will explore what scripture says about being people of justice.  How do we “do” social justice and what are some of the joys and challenges to living out this Gospel call?  Why is God's message of overthrowing the ways of the world joyful? Won't we suffer some, lose some, if this happens?

The retreat will be held March 14-15 at Gainey Conference Center.  Cost is $10.00 per person and includes transportation, meals, and lodging.  There will be opportunities for prayer, personal reflection, fellowship, and small group sharing.  Come join us!
