Student Mail Delivery
The proper address format for sending mail to a student is as follows:
Jane W. Smith
2115 Summit Avenue
Saint Paul, MN 55105-1096
Please DO NOT use residence hall room numbers. Mail and packages are not delivered to residence halls (dormitories). DO NOT use the words "PO box" or the mail could be mistaken with USPS mailboxes in downtown Saint Paul. Student mail is typically in mailboxes by 2:00 pm.
The Green Card
When items arrive that are too large for the mailbox, a green card is put into the student’s box to alert them to the arrival of the item. On a typical day green cards are in the student’s mailbox by noon. Green cards are also placed in the mailbox when an item arrives that requires a signature such as UPS or Federal Express. When a green card is received the item can be picked up at Shipping and Receiving in the lower level of Murray Herrick Center. The green card must be presented to pick up the item. For large items that require the use of a cart, a driver’s license will be held until the cart is returned.
