2015-2016 Student Leadership Selection Application Process Checklist

The Department of Campus Life, Residence Life, Dean of Students, International Student Services, Student Diversity and Inclusion Services, Anderson Student Center and Campus Ministry are proud to present a comprehensive student leadership application and selection process that allows students to apply for a total of fifteen different positions using one application process.

Please review the check list below to apply for these positions. All positions are paid and require the submission of a resume and cover letter. See below.


  1. For students who are studying abroad spring semester of 2015, please follow the first four steps below and apply for as many positions for which you would like to be considered.
  2. Application materials are due for study abroad students on December 9th. Interviews will be December 10th and candidates will be contacted by the individual offices.
  3. The second interview process varies for each position. Some will forgo the second interview for study abroad students, some will conduct via Skype or other face to face software, or some may gather the information needed via email.
  4. Offers will be emailed on March 24, 2015.

  • Review position chart and descriptions. Make sure to review “dates” and “additional considerations” to make sure the positions fit with your academic and extra-curricular schedule.
  • Create a resume which includes the contact information of two references.  If you need assistance developing a resume, visit the Career Development Center in person or online.
  • Write a cover letter for each position you are applying to.  Again, the Career Development Center is an excellent resource for help with writing cover letters.
  • Visit the “Tommie Careers” web page to apply for the job(s) by Wednesday, February 11, 2015.  Read the application instructions carefully.  If you have questions, contact Campus Life at campuslife@stthomas.edu.

    • Upload your resume and cover letters
    • Apply for as many positions as you would like 
  • You will be contacted via email by February 12, 2015 to sign up for an initial interview that will take place February 16, 17 or 18, 2015. You will sign up for a 20 minute interview for each position for which you are applying.
  • February 20-March 16, 2015: Final interview process.  Processes will vary by position.  Not everyone is invited to participate in all final interview processes, and not all offices utilize a second process.
