The Sun Center of Excellence

The University of St. Thomas College of Business is the first business school in the nation to be designated as a Sun Center of Excellence (COE). Administered by Sun Microsystems Inc., this worldwide program drives innovation and enterprise in targeted industry sectors through intensified technology use.

The designation gives the Opus College of Business yet another exciting opportunity to spur innovation for business. Through a collaborative partnership with Sun Microsystems and Cisco Systems, we will aid in the development of lucrative new Sun forecasting, modeling and identity-management tools, and augment technological teaching options for business schools worldwide.

In the first phase of the program, Schulze Hall was equipped with a Sun Ray ultra-thin client environment, including Sun Java Enterprise System, Sun Fire UltraSPARC processor-based servers, Sun StorEDGE array and Sun Blade workstations, with technical support from Sun.
