Target's Dawne Carlson Featured at March 8 Intersections Event

The University of St. Thomas’ third Intersections event on March 8, 2012, will bring Dawne Carlson, director of enterprise organizational effectiveness at Target Corporation, to the university’s Minneapolis campus to converse with Jack Militello, Ph.D.,  professor in the management department and director of the Health Care and Executive UST MBA programs.

The one-hour discussion about trends in organizational effectiveness and best practices in fulfilling and monitoring corporate-wide goals will take place from 6-7 p.m. and will include time for audience questions. A 5 p.m. welcome reception will occur prior to the event in the lobby of Schulze Hall (46 11th Street S., Minneapolis). Both the reception and the event are free and open to the public with prior registration.

In 2011, Ms. Carlson was named Target’s director of enterprise organizational effectiveness, a position where she heads a team charged with providing strategic frameworks and oversight for process improvement, team member engagement, talent development and executive development, among other areas. Previously, she spent five years as director of field organizational effectiveness, overseeing the creation of technical training for the stores, distribution, property development, asset protection and field support teams.

With more than 35 years of experience in teaching, research and consulting, Dr. Militello has assisted clients such as IBM, DuPont, the City of Philadelphia and the U.S. Department of Justice with strategic planning, change management, leadership development and organizational alignment.  His research specialties include strategic alignment and competitive advantage.  He teaches courses in Strategic Management and Global Economic Systems.
