The Schulze School of Entrepreneurship at the Opus College of Business is home to a distinctive incubator program that’s currently working with eight new companies. The university’s William C. Norris Institute provides incubator companies with a significant source of financial support. Mike Moore, the institute’s director, said “incubators have proven to be so valuable when it comes to tapping into a pool of experienced advisors.” Solome Tibebu ’12, founder of Cognific, said one of the most important aspects of the incubator program are the conversations that happen among startups sharing the space and Dejen Tesfagiorgis ‘08, founder of Dejen Digital, commented that professors turn into colleagues in the incubator environment. Other students offer pieces of their incubator experience.
