Metro area home sales "brisk" over summer

The Star Tribune's Just Listed real estate blog picked up the latest report issued by UST's Shenehon Center for Real Estate and liked what they saw. Home sales in the 13-county metro area were brisk over the summer, and the median price for a non-distressed home sale increased by nearly $6,000. The article quotes Shenehon Center director Herb Tousley as noting that "this is the most significant increase that has been observed in the last six years, with the exception of the period between April 2009 and September 2010 when the market was artificially stimulated by the Federal Homebuyers' Tax Credit."
