Could an Upscale Grocery War Be Breaking Out?

With Whole Foods tripling its footprint in the Twin Cities and Lund's opening high-profile grocery store in downtown Minneapolis (with plans for a location in downtown St. Paul as well), there's a battle brewing in the metro area upscale grocery market. Asked for comment by Twin Cities Business, Center for Retailing Excellence co-director Dave Brennan says there won't be enough demand to support the expansion, noting that "longer term, there are going to be losers."
