Minnesotans weigh in on 40th anniversary of 1st cell phone call

It was 40 years ago that an executive with Motorola made the first known cell phone call. It was a simple phone call that has altered how we communicate.

"It has become a part of what we need. I have to have this, it has to go with me," said Michael Porter, Ed.D., director of the Master of Business Communication program at the University of St. Thomas. In Porter's teachings, he talks a lot about what the cell phone has replaced, from the traditional phone, to the camera, to the video and cassette recorder. "And things we never imagined are in one little device," said Porter.
