International Applicant Requirements

English Proficiency Tests

If English is not your native language, you must submit scores from either the TOEFL or the IELTS. Our institutional code is 6110. Official score reports (not photocopies) are required. Please keep in mind that scores may take 4 to 6 weeks to arrive in our office.

Minimum Requirements:

  • IELTS: minimum overall band score of 7.0, with a minimum score of 6.5 on each of the four sections.
  • TOEFL iBT (Internet-based test): minimum total score of 80, with a minimum score of 20 on each of the four sections.

If you have completed an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited college or university in the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia or New Zealand, you are exempt from taking an English proficiency test.

International Student Questionnaire and Financial Certification Form

You may contact the UST MBC program to request a copy of this form or visit the UST International Admissions web site. Please read this required form thoroughly and begin gathering documentation early.

International Transcript Evaluation

A complete international application must include:

  • Transcript/Marksheet (an official listing of the subjects you have studied and the grades/marks received in each class).
  • Diploma (an official certificate showing the exact name of your degree and the date you received it). If your transcript clearly specifies the name of your degree and your date of graduation, then you do not need to submit a diploma.

We require applicants' credentials to be at least the equivalent to a four-year bachelor’s degree from a regionally-accredited U.S. institution. Please contact our admissions office for approved international transcript evaluation providers, or UST makes this service available for $100.

For all transcripts and diplomas in a language other than English, please submit BOTH the original documents as well as an English translation of them. A translation, unaccompanied by the original documents from which the translation originated, is not an acceptable educational credential.
