Certificate Plan & Requirements

If you are seeking a shorter, more specialized course of study, you may earn a certificate in one of three areas of concentration, or design your own to meet your goals.

A certificate may be right for you if:

  • Your professional responsibilities have changed and you need to develop your expertise.
  • You have a master's degree and want to add a specialization.
  • You want to explore a single area in depth.
  • You want to change careers within the field of communication.
  • You want to try out graduate school or begin a degree slowly.
  • You haven't completed the GMAT, GRE or MBA Math.

Certificate Plan

Certificate students complete six graduate courses, including a minimum of three courses from one of the areas of concentration noted below. Three other courses will be chosen from the UST MBC program curriculum.

Survey of Professional Communication

You will select six courses appropriate to a specific professional need. Certificate plan and rationale must be approved by the program director.

How to Transfer Your Certificate Work to a Degree

A certificate student with an MBC program GPA of 3.0 or higher may apply to transfer to the degree program at any time by providing an application to transfer and scores from the GMAT, GRE or MBA Math. The file will be reviewed at the next scheduled admissions committee meeting. Courses completed in the certificate program may be applied to a UST MBC degree.
