Academics & Curriculum

HOW OFTEN DO I COME TO CAMPUS?

The program starts in early fall with a one week, on-campus boot camp. You will then meet one Saturday per month for the 12 months of the program.

DO I HAVE TIME FOR THIS PROGRAM? HOW MUCH TIME SHOULD I EXPECT TO SPEND OUTSIDE OF CLASS HOURS?

You can expect to spend 10-20 hours per week on coursework. This can include required reading, taking part in online discussions and participating in exercises and projects, both as part of a team and individually.

Admission

Do you require the GMAT or the GRE?

Applicants to the MS in Health Care Communication program are not required to take the GMAT or the GRE. However, if you have taken either of these tests within the past five years, you may include your scores with your application.

HOW DO I APPLY?

Admission to the MS in Health Care Communication is an individualized process. We determine whether there is a good fit in terms of the applicant's potential to apply the curriculum to meet her or his professional goals and the applicant's perceived ability to contribute to the collaborative learning environment of the cohort.

Early applications are encouraged.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I SUBMIT MY APPLICATION?

An admissions adviser will review your file and present it to the Admissions Committee. Once a decision is made, typically within two to three weeks of your final application, we will contact you.

WHEN SHOULD I APPLY? WHEN ARE THE APPLICATION DEADLINES?

Priority deadline: June 15

With our rolling admissions process, applications are welcomed earlier than the priority deadline of June 15, and are reviewed once the file is complete. If unable to meet the priority deadline please contact an admissions adviser to discuss a possible timeline.

WILL CREDITS TRANSFER INTO THE PROGRAM?

No. This is a cohort program and all coursework is completed as a part of the program.

DO YOU REQUIRE A TRANSCRIPT FROM EVERY PROGRAM OR COURSE I ATTENDED FOR WHICH COLLEGE CREDIT WAS GRANTED?

Yes, transcripts are required from every institution at which you completed coursework for academic credit. The only exceptions are for advanced placement, PSEO coursework (college classes taken during high school) and study abroad transfer classes.
