In addition to being participating faculty, Joseph White is a partner at CliftonLarsonAllen, a top 10 national certified public accounting and consulting firm. He is a frequent speaker on health care and finance topics nationally.

White graduated from the University of Minnesota and received his bachelor's degree with an emphasis in accounting in 1982 and his master's degree in business administration from the University of St. Thomas Executive MBA program in 2001.

He is a licensed CPA and is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants, Medical Group Management Association, Minnesota Medical Group Management Association and the Health Care Financial Management Association.

White is at his best when teaching executive and middle management level graduate students helping them learn to open doors in their companies and advance their careers.

Financial accounting is an integral part of the planning, reporting and control functions of every business. It is a means to achieving insights about the firm's financial condition, operating results, cash flows and ownership and capital structure. This course covers the fundamental terminology and calculations of financial accounting and reporting, as well as the comprehension and interpretation of financial statements. This course is designed to give students an understanding of how cost information is used in planning, decision-making, and performance evaluation. Topics include, but are not limited to, cost allocation including Activity-Based Costing, contribution margin analysis, budgeting and performance evaluation.
