Kevin Henderson joined the Department of Management at the University of St. Thomas in Fall 2009. He teaches at both the part-time M.B.A. and undergraduate levels in the areas of organizational behavior and human resources. His research interests include employee attachment, psychological contracts and turnover. His primary area of research is on psychological contract breach, which specifically focuses on examining the effects of broken organizational promises on employee attitudes and behaviors.

Henderson worked in retail at a variety of department stores throughout high school and college. Upon graduating with a B.S.B.A. in administrative management from the University of Arkansas, he worked at JC Penney as a management trainee. After finishing the program, he decided to jump into banking at Arvest Bank. He started out in their management program and was an assistant manager for one of the bank branches. He then moved into consumer loans and was there until he decided to go back and earn his Ph.D. from the Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas.

Henderson is an advisor for human resources and business communication majors, a member of the Opus College of Business Strategic Planning Committee, and a UST faculty senator. He serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for the Academy of Management Annual Meeting and has received multiple OB Outstanding Reviewer Awards. He is also a member of SHRM and is actively involved with student clubs at UST.

All organizations are impacted by how people behave in those organizations. A key role of a manager is to guide that behavior to successfully accomplish organizational goals. Organization Theory and Behavior is about this aspect of business. The class objectives are for you to (a) gain an understanding of the various theoretical views of behavior in organizations and (b) be able to use these theories to systematically analyze organizational situations and generate appropriate action plans.
