Bob Gallagher joined the faculty from industry. He spent 12 years in public accounting with KPMG before joining a small public high-tech manufacturing company where he became the chief financial officer. Gallagher subsequently was CFO at three other public high-tech manufacturing companies, most recently at Stratasys, Inc., a 3-D printing company where he was executive vice president and CFO. As an instructor, he focuses on helping his students understand that accounting is the language of business and is used throughout the organization to communicate not only results, but also needs, priorities and many other business decisions. Throughout his industry career, Gallagher worked closely with entrepreneurs on turning technical innovations into commercial success. His goal is to bring his practical experience into the classroom.
Equally important to Gallagher is instilling an ethical framework for his students to make decisions. He believes business is not just about achieving commercial success, but doing so in an ethical and forthright manner.
Gallagher received a B.S.B.A. from Creighton University, where he majored in accounting. He received his M.B.A. from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management with an emphasis on international business. He is also a member of the Jesuit Honor Society, Alpha Sigma Nu.
