Opus College of Business co-sponsors Rock the Garden

What do a business school and a rock concert have in common?

The 2009 Rock the Garden, hosted by the Walker Art Center and The Current radio station, is dedicated to enlivening the culture of the Twin Cities.

The University of St. Thomas has been an active supporter of Twin Cities arts, culture and entrepreneurial endeavors since its founding in 1885.

The Opus College of Business continues this tradition through a variety of programs, among these the Opus Distinguished Speaker Series – bringing national and international thought-leaders to campus each year – and the Business 200 course, requiring all undergraduate business students to provide 40 hours of service to their communities.

“We are delighted to participate in Rock the Garden, primarily because it allows us to make a meaningful contribution to the vibrant culture of the Twin Cities community,” says dean Christopher Puto, Ph.D. “One hallmark of a good business – or a good business school – is its commitment to the communities and societies in which it operates. This event gives us a unique opportunity to honor this commitment.”
