Beyond Compliance: Core Values and Leadership
Friday, October 5, 8:00 AM
The Center for Ethical Business Cultures invites you to the first in a series of five discussions on organizational culture, particularly the challenges of sustaining a commitment to ethical conduct.
Core values and leadership are central to the CEBC model of ethical culture. Well-defined values are enduring but often need to be refreshed in light of changing business models and environments. Leaders and other cultural practices bring those values to life. Indeed, the selection and role of leaders is crucial to the maintenance of a value-driven culture.
It is instructive to explore ways in which leaders and organizations communicate about values, and how these values are uniquely defined to align with a particular company’s business model and industry. Equally important are the methods companies have developed to keep the values top of mind in the culture despite conflicting business pressures. Finally, what processes are used to revisit the values?
Note
These are invitation-only meetings for members of CEBC; they are not open to the public. For information on membership, see the Center for Ethical Business Cultures website.
The goal: Build practical applications that help bring the framework to life in ways that you can take back into your organization; and help all of us shape cohesive, purposeful strategies ensuring that ethical values inspire our organizations.
Format: Each discussion will begin promptly with breakfast at 8 a.m. followed by discussion until we adjourn at 9:30 a.m. Sessions will be facilitated by Ron James, president and CEO of the center; alternatively, we typically invite a member of the group or a guest to serve as a “conversation starter” for a particular session.
Registration fee: The one-time fee for the entire series is $275. If you prefer to register session by session, the fee for a single discussion is $65.
