Distance Learning = Flexibility

The Best of Both Worlds

Working professionals can meet their specific educational goals and develop an influential lifelong network while balancing a full-time career and other personal commitments.  This is accomplished through an integrative approach that balances two powerful learning perspectives.

On-Campus Sessions

Two three-day sessions on our Minneapolis campus held every six months provide concentrated, face-to-face work with faculty and fellow students, building strong relationships and enhancing the entire learning experience.  On-campus sessions introduce each course and provide opportunities for interactive group exercises, case studies, guest speakers and special programs that focus on professional development and current hot topics in health care.

Online Coursework and Interactive Meetings

Between campus visits, all coursework and class meetings are conducted online.  This includes class lectures, assignments, exams, group work and presentations.  There are no set class times, so you can accomplish your coursework according to your own schedule - nights or weekends, between patients, meetings and family events - whatever works for you.  Faculty use live meeting software throughout their courses to provide opportunities for direct interaction and group discussion.  If you cannot participate in these meetings at the time they are scheduled, they are recorded for future review.

As you move through the program with your cohort, you will not be learning in isolation.  The online work is done collaboratively with your cohort colleagues.  This executive model allows you to not only learn from your faculty, but also from one another.

The Richness of On-Line Dialogue

"The collaborative online learning provides a richness of dialogue that really complements the on-campus sessions.  All cohort members participate in the discussion so you get the full benefit of learning from colleagues that you might not have heard from in class.  Online, you have the time to respond thoughtfully and critically to the discussion at hand, leading to a highly interactive and thought-provoking exchange that many of us save for future reference."
