Full-time UST MBA
Meet Victor Chavarria
"The context provided by the perspectives and business insights of my classmates is essential towards my development as a future business leader in this nation with such a diverse workforce."
I am originally from Hermosillo in Sonora, Mexico. I chose the University of St. Thomas because it is a well-known Catholic university with approachable faculty that puts strong weight on ethics. The personalized Full-time UST MBA program and the small size of the classes fit well with my personal and professional goals.
Our faculty has also taught at many different universities, including Harvard, Georgetown, Michigan and Duke. They are great communi-cators with vision and strong emphasis on ethics integrated in the curriculum. They are active in the business community as authors, researchers, consultants, entrepreneurs or board members in a great variety of industries.
Faculty primarily use lecture and the case study method. Diversity of the student body is fundamental for the success of the case method. One fourth of my class comes from countries other than the United States. The range in ages, backgrounds and work experience is broad. The context provided by the perspectives and business insights of my classmates is essential towards my development as a future business leader in this nation with such a diverse workforce.
My UST MBA shaped and enhanced my career goals and aspirations. There are many paths in the program, but my emphasis is in finance. My goal is to contribute wisely, skillfully and responsibly to the success of the company I will represent after I graduate. The holistic approach of the program taught me how to find ways to add value and contribute to my work team, company and society in general.
