UST Students Get Involved! Rake-A-Thon 2008
By Mike Burns, Full-time UST MBA, Class of 2009
Thank you to everyone who participated in the first volunteer event of the semester. The Northwest Youth and Family Services fall Rake-A-Thon, co-sponsored by Net Impact and the Volunteer Club, was a huge success!
Seven members of the full time UST MBA program were joined by members of the community to rake the lawns of the elderly and disabled located in the Northeast metro area. The weather was great and everyone involved had a fantastic time. Together we were able to rake the lawns of six homeowners, clearing a total of 70 to 80 bags of leaves.
It was clear that the people we were able to assist were really in need of our help. It was great to see how pleased the homeowners were that we were willing to rake their lawns, and to know that we were making a positive impact in the local community.
Community giving is an important piece of the UST MBA experience! Please contact Mike Burns for more information about our next co-sponsored event. See more pictures from this and other UST MBA events.
