Simon Marketing Association Case Competition
By Sandra Forsyth
On March 28-30, five Full-time UST MBA Program students competed in the Simon Marketing Association's 15th annual Marketing Case Competition at the University of Rochester in New York. The University of St. Thomas has had a history of success with, excellent showing with three of the five students placing in the top three out of 16 teams. This year was no exception to the rule.
An amazing first place finish was accomplished by second-year student, Amelia Anderson's team. While second year student, Michael McKeon's team placed third. This is the second time UST MBA candidates have finished in the top three among over 50 competitors.
Participants in the Simon Marketing Association Case Competition worked on mixed teams with other MBA candidates to solve a real-world business problem. Teams were given five hours to analyze a case, develop recommendations and create a presentation. The Full-time UST MBA Program plans to send five students to compete again this spring. Students should have strong marketing and presentation skills along with strong overall academic performance.
