Safe Haven Provides Shelter From the Storm

Give him a minute and Dan Saad '85, '91 M.B.A., will sell you a dream - the dream of a better life for troubled Minnesota youth. He'll tell you about a kid who lived in a tent behind a church. He'll mention suburban youth who couch-hop, the invisible homeless who move from one friend's house to another. He'll talk about kids whose stepparents throw them out of the house as soon as they turn 18. He'll ask you, "Is it right for them to be homeless? I don't think so, if they're willing to change."

MBA Students Manage $5 Million through the Aristotle Fund

Since 1999, the Aristotle Fund has provided Full-time and Evening MBA candidates at the Opus College of Business with an opportunity to manage a $5 million anonymous gift, while at the same time, gain real-world market wisdom. The Fund provides students the chance to develop their skills as portfolio managers and analysts in a real-world context.

Improving Job Market for MBAs

It's a good time to think about earning an MBA if career change or career advancement is your goal. According to the most recent (November 2006) survey from the National Association of Colleges and Employers, companies are predicting a 22% growth rate nationally in post-graduation opportunities for new MBAs. Rates are even higher for the Midwest region, with employers expecting to up their MBA hires by about 51%, according to the NACE survey. These rates are symptomatic of the steady improvement in MBA job opportunities since 2001.

In 1992, Dale Bachman became the president of his family's business in Minneapolis, MN - one of the largest traditional floral and nursery operations in the world.
