University of St. Thomas Names Opus College of Business

St. Thomas announced at noon October 19, 2006 that it has named its College of Business after Opus, the Minnesota real estate development and construction company founded by St. Thomas trustee and benefactor Gerald Rauenhorst.

Here Comes the ... Groom?

Two University of St. Thomas alumni recently launched a new magazine, Today's Groom, dedicated to providing men the tools to successfully become engaged, married, and begin married life. William Easton ('05), an UST undergraduate alumnus with a degree in Entrepreneurship and Operations Management, and Jacob Schraufnagel ('05), also an UST graduate in Entrepreneurship, placed the first issue of their quarterly publication on newsstands throughout Minnesota in January of 2006.

Full-time UST MBA Students Prepare Meals for Hungry Children

In spite of being in the midst of the hectic mid-term season students and faculty from the Full-time UST MBA program are still finding time for service. On Saturday, October 21st, 20 Full-time MBA students, Dean Christopher Puto, and three faculty members gathered in Chanhassen, MN at Feed My Starving Children, to pack food for hungry and malnourished children worldwide.

Highlight: Best Buy Alumni Event

In the past 6 months, over 500 UST Graduate Business Alumni (GBAs) and friends have attended exclusive alumni speaker events and happy hours hosted by the newly formed UST Graduate Business Alumni Board. The most recent GBA event was held at the Best Buy Corporate Campus in Richfield on Thursday, November 16th.

Full-time UST MBA Travels to Asia

Associate Director of Admissions for the Full-time UST MBA, Milyon Trulove joined the QS World Tour MBA for a six-city tour of Asia. On his trip, Trulove met prospective students and introduced them to what makes the Full-time UST MBA program unique. The tour took him to Tokyo, Seoul, Beijing, Shanghai, Taipei, and Hong Kong. As word about the Full-time UST MBA program has spread, there has been particular interest from students in Asia. According to Trulove, "This, our 4th tour in as many years, will build upon our success on one of many international locations we draw from. It's important that we find ourselves in locations where students are interested in obtaining an MBA degree."
