In the past 6 months, over 500 UST Graduate Business Alumni (GBAs) and friends have attended exclusive alumni speaker events and happy hours hosted by the newly formed UST Graduate Business Alumni Board. The most recent GBA event was held at the Best Buy Corporate Campus in Richfield on Thursday, November 16th.

The Best Buy event was the first in a series of GBA executive speaker events held at corporate locations around the Twin Cities. Almost 200 GBAs and their guests enjoyed rich networking and a vast buffet of appetizers before moving into the state-of-the-art theater for a thought-provoking presentation on technology and innovation by Tom Healy, executive vice president of Best Buy for Business.

Mr. Healy's presentation, "Fostering Innovative Processes in a Growing Business, the BBFB Story," drew upon his 15 years of retail management expertise and his experience directing the development and implementation of a multi-channel strategy to provide higher levels of service and more relevant offerings to business owners. Before his current position as EVP for BBFB, Healy led Best Buy International where he oversaw the company's expansion into Canada. He also served as senior vice president of Best Buy's Canadian operations.

The 2007 UST Graduate Business Alumni event schedule will be kicked off with the annual Leadership Luncheon on January 18th. This event will feature UST MBA alumnus, Joe Perdew, President of Target Commercial Interiors. First year full-time UST MBA students are invited to attend this event so that they have yet another opportunity to tap into the network of over 15,000 UST Graduate Business Alumni.
