Before You Apply
How to Apply
The following elements comprise a complete application for the Full-time UST MBA program:
- Application form with essays (on-line application or PDF)
- Application fee
- Résumé
- Two letters of recommendation (download PDF form)
- Essay questions
- Official transcripts from each college or university attended, whether or not a degree was awarded (download PDF form)
- Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) score. Our code is B7L-4N-81. For complete information on the GMAT, visit www.gmat.com.
- Admissions Interview. The admissions committee will contact qualified applicants to schedule an on-campus admission interview once their application is complete. Applicants from outside the local area who plan to visit campus may schedule an on-campus interview prior to completing their application, if necessary. The admissions committee will schedule telephone interviews with applicants from outside the local area who are unable to visit campus. Applicants must have a complete application on file prior to the phone interview.
International Students also must submit:
- English proficiency tests. If English is not your native language, you must submit scores from either the TOEFL (www.toefl.org) the IELTS (www.ielts.org). We require a minimum overall band score of 7.0 on the IELTS, with a minimum score of 6.5 on each of the four sections. We require a minimum total score of 80 on the TOEFL iBT (Internet-based test), with a minimum score of 20 on each of the four sections. Most admitted students score between 90 and 105 on the TOEFL. Our institutional code is 6110.
Official score reports (not photocopies) are required for admission. Please keep in mind that TOEFL and IELTS scores may take 4 to 6 weeks to arrive in our office. If you have completed an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited college or university in the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand, you are exempt from taking the TOEFL. - Financial Verification. The International Student Questionnaire and Financial Certification Form (with bank statement or other financial support documentation) must be submitted as part of your application. This form is also available from St. Thomas’ International Admissions Office at (651) 962-6450 or www.stthomas.edu/international. International applicants should complete the application process above to be considered for the UST MBA program. Once admitted to the program, our International Admissions Office will work with you to obtain a student visa. The I-20 immigration form will be issued only after all admissions requirements have been fulfilled and you have been accepted to the program.
- Academic credentials (transcript, diploma, English translation)
- Transcript evaluation. If you completed your undergraduate or graduate work at a college or university outside of the United States, you must complete a transcript evaluation. St. Thomas can provide this service for a fee of $100. If you already have a transcript evaluation, or would prefer to have it completed on your own, please contact the admissions office at ustmba@stthomas.edu or (651) 962-8800 to ensure that the evaluation service you use is accepted by our university.

Admissions Deadlines
In September of each year, the Full-time UST MBA program begins accepting and reviewing applications for enrollment the following fall, based on the following schedule:

Applications arriving after June 1 are welcome and will be considered as space remains available in the incoming class.
