Executive UST MBA
Meet Mike Kujak
"The St. Thomas experience has provided me with stronger financial acumen and?.helped me see the big picture and get results."
I started my career twenty years ago in healthcare sales and moved into sales management and leadership. In 2003 I took on a product management role at American Medical Systems. I have really enjoyed the marketing aspect of medical devices and immediately knew that I wanted to move into a leadership role within the medical device market. This is one of the core reasons I pursued an Executive M.B.A.—to broaden and sharpen my general management skills.
I looked at several programs and chose the University of St. Thomas’s program due to their broad general management curriculum and the cohort experience. The Executive UST MBA experience at St. Thomas has been very rewarding for me both personally and professionally.
The St. Thomas experience has provided me with stronger financial acumen and a broader understanding from a general management perspective. My M.B.A. course work helped me see the big picture and get results using critical thinking, problem solving and teamwork. I have taken much of the strategies discussed in class, applied them “real-time” directly in the workplace and shared them with colleagues.
I started the EMBA program at St. Thomas in January 2006 as a Group Manager at AMS. Early in my studies, the St. Thomas EMBA experience enabled me to get a fantastic position as Vice President of Marketing at Restore Medical, Inc.. in January 2007. The increase in responsibility and overall compensation more than paid for the personal financial investment I made in my MBA.
