Presenter: Jeff Peterson, Best Buy
Director of Community Relations and Social Change

As director of community relations and social change for Best Buy Co., Inc., Jeff Peterson sets charitable giving, employee citizenship, and social change strategies for the global leader of technology and entertainment products and services. He leads a team that develops and implements the company’s philanthropic efforts in the U.S., including local and national initiatives of the Best Buy Children’s Foundation, most recently founding and launching @15TM, a social change platform empowering teens.

Peterson joined Best Buy in January 2007 after serving as director of corporate promotion marketing and content development at General Mills, where he led corporate branding and media development initiatives for the company’s retail, entertainment, multicultural, and cause-related marketing initiatives. Throughout his 15-year career at General Mills, he led the growth of Box Tops for Education, the nation’s largest K-8 school fundraising and loyalty brand. He also developed social marketing and service-learning organizational effectiveness initiatives on behalf of corporate and non-profit clients, with published articles in both fields.
