Evening UST MBA
Meet John Notman
"Joining a program in a metropolitan setting reaps all sorts of rewards. The UST MBA programs are situated in downtown Minneapolis and the networking opportunities are unlimited."
I knew I enjoyed the business world and it was time to formally do something about it. After looking at many other schools, I decided on the University of St. Thomas because of its outstanding faculty and their experience and connections with some of the largest companies in the U.S. This is a reputable program that allowed me to advance my professional career while getting a top-notch education at the same time.
I also chose the Evening UST MBA program because of some sage advice from my business mentor: joining a program in a metropolitan setting reaps all sorts of rewards. The UST MBA programs are situated in downtown Minneapolis and the networking opportunities are unlimited.
I have already benefitted professionally from the UST MBA program. A hiring manager told me I was selected over other candidates for my internship because of my enrollment at St. Thomas. I’ve picked up skills in the classroom, such as creating a strategic marketing plan, that translate into tangible actions directly applicable to my job. I also value the soft skills I have developed, such as managing people and diversity – critical skills for anyone’s job. I appreciate the “real-world” relevance of our class activities, and I know my colleagues do, too.
My favorite course so far was the Global Business study abroad course held in Berlin, led by Professor Heino Beckmann. While the European setting contributed to a great experience, unique cultural interactions and strong connections with my peers, Dr. Beckmann pushed us to learn and move beyond our comfort levels. This is exactly what I was looking for in an M.B.A. program.
